Tips from parents
- The trail is an easy, mostly flat dirt path of about a mile out and back, so it works for little legs and for strollers that handle dirt.
- Look for herons, egrets and red-winged blackbirds in the marsh, and bring binoculars if your kids like spotting birds.
- Follow the trail around the point to the breakwater and tide pools, and check a tide chart first so you reach the pools at low tide.
- Keep kids out of the wetlands, and keep dogs on leash on the trail. The marsh is a protected habitat.
