Vasco Caves Regional Preserve opens only to guided tours, protecting a landscape sacred to local California Indian communities. Ride the bus from Round Valley, then hike two to three miles past vernal pools and rock outcrops where golden eagles nest and fairy shrimp thrive. Photography is prohibited; advance reservations are required.
