After dark, the formal gardens are lit with miles of twinkling lights, glowing pathways and decorated trees. It's an easy evening stroll for kids who like lights and a little magic. Wear warm layers and comfy shoes, since you'll be outside walking the garden paths. By day, Filoli's Thistlewyck holiday village is part of the daytime ticket (not the evening Holiday Lights ticket), with a post office where kids can mail letters to the North Pole.
